When monitoring final deliverables is more important than tracking days
and hours, Progress Reporter serves as a delivery-reporting tool. Team
members report progress only when critical deliverables are complete.
The project manager can weight or prioritize the deliverables, so step
or task completion automatically calculates an estimated percentage of
completion, providing the project manager a good estimate of when to
expect the deliverable to be final.
Progress Reporter also keeps team members informed. Each project task
includes notes and documentation concerning critical information required
for successful project completion. Comments, explanations, issues, risks,
requirements and requests can all be entered in Progress Reporter by team
members and instantly reviewed by the project manager. As a project manager
anticipates a change in scope it is communicated to team members who can
provide the impact of such a change.
When a team member needs additional project history or background information,
a link to the project's published web site is a mouse click away. Enabling
a team to drill into the detail of a project via the project Website provides
clarity to the impact their work has on related tasks.
